Behold Jesus

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:18 that:

… we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

When we behold Jesus, we’ll pick up more and more of his mannerisms.

Worship leaders: Never tire or move beyond helping your congregation behold the glory of Jesus Christ, through the freedom-giving power of the Spirit.

Jesus is not one of many things we should pointing to through our songs. He is the main thing.

He is the central theme.

And he is the image of God.

We become like what we behold.

Behold Jesus!

The above quote comes from an article Why We Become What We Behold by Jamie Brown. Read the whole article here.

Pure, holy and right

“God is determined to make you pure, holy, and right, and He will not allow you to escape from the scrutiny of the Holy Spirit for even one moment.

God is going to bring you out pure, spotless, and undefiled, and the moment you are willing for God to change your nature, His recreating forces will begin to work.

And the moment you realize that God’s purpose is to get you into the right relationship with Him and then with others, He will reach to the very limits of the universe to help you take the right road.”

Oswald Chambers, from My Utmost for His Highest.
