DATE CLAIMERS FOR YOUR CALENDAR
Welcome to everyone who is planning on coming to our service this morning. The service commences at 10 am.
Every Sunday we gather with like minded people to celebrate whose we are in Christ and to enjoy fellowship with one another (allelon) as we worship together.
To anyone who is a visitor we extend to you a special welcome. With our welcome there is also an invitation to stay after the service and join with others for a drink and something to eat in the coffee shop.
Leading us in the role of our worship leader is Ted Smith and Jeff Parker will lead us around the Lord’s Table (Communion). One of our elders, David Mills, will bring the message from God’s word.
The Coming of Jesus
With a lot of the different natural and man-caused events occurring around the world, more and more people are speculating about Jesus’ second coming. Bruce Milne in his book, The end of the World, rightly points out
‘The centring of the Christian hope on the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ needs to be underlined. It is possible to become so involved in the intricacies of prophetic fulfilment or with a study of the accompanying events that we miss the central event… the Christian hope for the future is not a timetable of events. It is not concerned finally with a series of impersonal happenings. Its heart is nothing other than the expectation of the personal appearing of the Lord. If we find our interest in the last things is centred elsewhere than the Lord Himself, then we are already out of step with Scripture.”
It does well to remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 24:36, ‘No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.’
Benediction: May the dying Saviour’s love, the risen Saviour’s power, the ascended Saviour’s blessing, and the returning Saviour’s glory, be the joy and comfort of your hearts. Now and forever. Amen.

There are times in our lives when our peace is based simply on our own ignorance. But when we are awakened to the realities of life, true inner peace is impossible unless it is received from Jesus. When our Lord speaks peace, He creates peace, because the words that He speaks are always “spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). Have I ever received what Jesus speaks? “…My peace I give to you…”— a peace that comes from looking into His face and fully understanding and receiving His quiet contentment.
Are you severely troubled right now? Are you afraid and confused by the waves and the turbulence God sovereignly allows to enter your life? Have you left no stone of your faith unturned, yet still not found any well of peace, joy, or comfort?
